Sonic The Hedgehog Chao Garden figures
In 2023, Sega’s Sonic Team asked us to produce a special exclusive figure. These figures would be presented to core members of the Sonic game team, from directors to voice actors, as well as trusted partners and creators. With a run limited to only 29, these are definitely one of the rarer pieces of official Sonic sculpture out there!
Dozens of castings are needed to complete one figure; Sonic’s shoes alone are ten separate components. Tinted urethane resin was used for each part in order to ensure accurate color across all replicas. Each piece was then hand-painted to accentuate shadows and highlights before clear coating. An epoxy casting process is used to create the small water pool, showing a scale Chaos Emerald hidden partway in sand.
For shipping, the leaves of the palm tree are removable and secure in place via magnets for final assembly. The small inner tube Chao is free standing and can be placed anywhere on the sculpture, while Sonic and the sleeping Chao are both permanently affixed. The finished sculptures measure 14″ in total height with an 8″ wide base.
